The Arrogance of Lynn De Bruin
Since Dan Cody has announced his candidacy to unset Lynn De Bruin for Milwaukee County Supervisor of the 15th district, I have taken many opportunities to talk with colleagues, neighbors, friends and acquaintances about this race.
First, some didn’t know that DeBruin was their county supervisor others acknowledged that Lynn rarely if ever returns phone calls or answers e-mails, while others indicted to me that De Bruin has stood them up for meetings; which happened to a Pastor I know in my neighborhood.
Now that I am collecting signatures for Dan Cody, I am hearing similar stories. This got me thinking, how can someone have ran unopposed for so long with such blatant disregard to constituents?
I have witnessed this barefaced disregard of her electorate myself. Early this summer I had a question regarding the sales tax referendum. I left a massage at the county court house on the day before the board voted for the referendum. She never had gotten back to me. Also, since moving to the Washington Heights Neighborhood here in Milwaukee ten years ago, I have never seen her at Washington Heights Annual Meeting. Considering she used to live in the Neighborhood, I found that to be astounding. All other politicians from Alderman to state Reps to the Mayor all attend this meeting.
Knowing Dan Cody as well as I do, I sincerely believe he will be a Supervisor that will be visible and responsive to his constituents.
I find Lynn’s lack of visibility and responsiveness to her electorate rather smug. It’s time for the people of the 15th to fire her.
